ASHLAND, Ky. (WSIP) – A proposed $12 billion AI data center campus could be coming to the former AK Steel site near Ashland.
UK-based Rubix Data Centers is considering a 500-acre development that would become the largest planned data center project in Kentucky, with the capacity to use as much electricity as nearly two million homes.
Developers say the project could create more than 1,000 construction jobs, about 200 permanent positions, and generate an estimated $40 million annually in local property tax revenue.
