Large Turnout for Early Voting

People who want to avoid the expected crowds voting on Tuesday have been setting records for early voting.

Secretary of State Michael Adams said that 229,944 people voted, beating the record set on Thursday of 225,696.

A large turnout for the vote is expected on Tuesday.

Salle Conley Holbrook, of the Johnson County Clerk’s Office, said the lines will move better if voters are prepared.

Holbrook encourages voters to have their driver license or ID ready.

Governor Beshear said he is joining many other states to activate the Kentucky Emergency Management Operation Center on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In a news release, the Governor said his activation is not in anticipation of any foreseen issues in Kentucky but like the other states it’s a commitment for a safe and secure election.
