Students transferring from KCTCS colleges to Morehead State University will soon have an easier path.
The two institutions have announced a new Common Course Numbering System that aligns course names and numbers for widely taught general education classes.
The goal is to make the transfer of credits clear, and to reduce confusion, duplicated classes, and lost credits.
KCTCS President Dr. Ryan Quarles says the program puts students first by saving time, money, and frustration.
Morehead State President Dr. Jay Morgan calls it another step in creating clear transfer pathways between the schools.
The program will roll out in phases, starting with the most frequently transferred general education courses.
Officials say the long-term goal is to include all general education courses by Fall 2028.
Leaders say the partnership could also serve as a model for expanding common course numbering statewide.
