An Elkhorn City man is facing drug trafficking and DUI charges after a traffic stop on Ferrells Creek Road.
State Police say Trooper Christopher Tyree pulled over a Chevy Suburban driven by 45‑year‑old Lawrence Barnes after seeing it speeding and swerving, and noted Barnes appeared nervous, had no ID, and had active warrants.
Troopers say Barnes admitted there was meth in the vehicle, and a search turned up a large bag believed to be meth, smaller bags believed to be cocaine, empty baggies, and two guns.
Barnes was taken to the Pike County Detention Center.
