Perry County Teens Arrested After 101 MPH DUI Stop in Prestonsburg

Some Perry County teens have been arrested on alcohol and other charges after the pickup truck they were riding in was pulled over for speeding.

Prestonsburg Police say the driver was clocked going 101 mph in a 45 mph zone.

The Hazard Herald reports the driver, 19-year-old James Sullivan, allegedly had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.

A search of the car turned up a fake ID with one of the passengers, 18-year-old Matthew Richie, allegedly admitting he and Sullivan bought the fake ID and used it to buy booze.

Also in the car were a 19-year-old woman and 17-year-old girl.

All three of the older teens face charges, but police have not said whether the 17-year-old would.
