Kentucky Power Project to Modernize Transmission Line in Eastern Kentucky

Some electrical power upgrades could be coming soon for parts of Floyd and Johnson counties.

Kentucky Power announced Thursday that the Kentucky Public Service Commission has approved their application to do the Prestonsburg-Thelma Transmission Line Rebuild Project which will rebuild about 14 miles of transmission line to 69-kilovolt and retire a stretch of 46-kilovolt line.

The work is set to start this summer and take about two years.

If you own land along the right-of-way, Kentucky Power will reach out to you to get access to do surveys, appraisals and other work.
