Officials are investigating a crash that claimed a life that occurred as a tornado warning had been issued for the area last night.
An official with Powell County dispatch told WKYT that the driver of a vehicle appeared to have hydroplaned on KY 213 and hit a tree.
At this time it has not been determined whether the crash was indeed caused by the severe weather.
The roadway was shut down for several hours—no further information has been released at this time.
