Due to main line maintenance, although no contamination has been confirmed, Paintsville Utilities has voluntarily issued a boil water advisory for the following areas:
- US 23, beginning at the intersection of Witten Lane and US 23 and continuing to the intersection of KY Route 993 and US 23, including all side roads, Sadler Drive, and Church Drive.
- KY Route 993, from the intersection of US 23 and KY Route 993 up to house number 214.
This advisory is being issued as a precautionary measure and will remain in effect until further notice.
Paintsville Utilities advises all customers in the affected areas to boil their water before using it for drinking, making ice, cooking, washing dishes, brushing teeth, or food preparation.
Bring water to a rolling boil for three minutes, then allow it to cool before use. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present in the water.
