PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WXKQ) – A Pike County jury has found 48-year-old Dusty Ratliff guilty of second-degree manslaughter in connection with a fatal 2022 crash that claimed the life of James Kelly.
According to investigators, Ratliff was driving a pickup truck at a high rate of speed on Elkhorn Creek Road in July 2022 when she crossed into the wrong lane and struck Kelly’s vehicle head-on.
Kentucky State Police testified the truck was traveling at approximately 92 miles per hour before the crash.
Jurors recommended a 10-year prison sentence.
Ratliff was taken into custody and will remain jailed pending formal sentencing.
