Magoffin County Man Faces Multiple Charges Following DUI Arrest

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WSIP) – A Magoffin County man is facing multiple charges after police say he nearly collided head-on with a patrol car and later swallowed drug evidence while under arrest.

Seventy-two-year-old Billy Jack Montgomery of Salyersville was arrested last week on charges including DUI, wanton endangerment and drug possession after officers reportedly found marijuana and several prescription pills in his vehicle.

According to the arrest citation, Montgomery allegedly reached through a gap in the police cruiser’s partition, grabbed the pill bottle and swallowed its contents while being transported.

After treatment at a hospital, Montgomery was lodged in jail and additionally charged with tampering with physical evidence.
