Casting with Kids returns to Paintsville Lake this weekend, giving children a chance to enjoy a day of fishing and fun during Kentucky’s Free Fishing Weekend.
Hosted by the Casting For Kids organization, which raises money for Shriners Children’s Hospital, the event kicks off Friday night with the “Night to Shine” fishing tournament for children with special needs. Saturday’s activities are open to kids of all ages.
Organizers say every child who attends will receive a free rod and reel, bait, t-shirt, toys, and more.
And because it’s Free Fishing Weekend across Kentucky, parents can fish alongside their children without needing a fishing license.
