Former Teacher Pleads Guilty to Charges Involving Student

According to a press release from Attorney General Russell Coleman’s office, a former Magoffin County Middle School teacher is headed to prison.

Thirty-two-year-old Jordan Cobb pleaded guilty Thursday to charges including procuring the use of a minor by electronic means and harassing communications.

Investigators say Cobb used social media in 2023 to send explicit images and messages to a 14-year-old student, and later sent threatening messages to the same victim.

Under a plea agreement, Cobb will serve five years in prison and will not be eligible for probation. The sentence will run alongside related federal charges.

Kentucky State Police investigated the case. Cobb is scheduled to be sentenced June 5th.
