The past two weekends have seen two major events held in the county.
Johnson County Judge Executive Mark McKenzie reported to the fiscal court that both the Casting with Kids and the Johnson County Trail Days events were successful.
McKenzie reported that Friday night’s Casting with Kids at Paintsville Lake had 75 children with special needs participate.
Saturday saw 1,100 kids participating.
The Johnson County Trail Days continues to grow with a large increase in preregistration for all the events.
Last year, there were 200 preregistrations.
This year that number climbed to 500.
