GRAYSON, KY — Kentucky Christian University is thrilled to announce that legendary bluegrass and country artist Ricky Skaggs, along with his award-winning band Kentucky Thunder, will open the 2025 Summer Concert Series.
The concert will take place on Friday, June 20 at 7:00 PM in the beautiful Nash Chapel, located on the KCU campus in Grayson, Kentucky.
A native of nearby Cordell in Lawrence County, Ricky Skaggs has been a defining voice in American music for over five decades. A proud member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1982, Skaggs has been honored with numerous accolades, including inductions into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame, and the IBMA Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.
In 2018 alone, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the National Fiddler Hall of Fame—an exceptional trifecta celebrating his profound impact on multiple genres. Most recently, he received the National Medal of Arts in 2020, one of the highest honors bestowed upon an artist in the United States.
