The newest addition to the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Department is already paying dividends.
K-9 officer Nitra uncovered drugs during a traffic stop.
The Salyersville Independent reported that deputies were at a traffic stop when the driver was showing signs of impairment and arrested Daniel Jackson on DUI and driving on suspended license charges.
As part of the investigation, Nitra alerted to possible narcotics being found in the vehicle which turned out to be several drugs.
Jackson now faces drug trafficking charges.
