Nearly $850K Awarded for Development Projects in Magoffin and Pike Counties

Governor Andy Beshear has announced more than 12 million dollars in state funding for economic development projects across Kentucky — including two in our region.

In Magoffin County, officials will receive more than 350-thousand dollars to help expand the Gifford Industrial Park. The funding will support land acquisition and site studies aimed at attracting new business and jobs to the area.

Meanwhile in Pike County, nearly 492-thousand dollars has been approved to complete utility installation at the Wolfpit Industrial and Technology Park, helping prepare the site for future development.

The funding comes through the state’s Kentucky Product Development Initiative, which focuses on building ready-to-go industrial sites to attract new employers.

Governor Beshear says the investments are part of ongoing efforts to grow Kentucky’s economy and bring more job opportunities to local communities.
