A Paintsville woman is facing DUI and wanton endangerment charges after crashing her SUV with two juveniles inside.
Police say 37-year-old Jessica Dawn Jaques was behind the wheel of a 2021 Toyota RAV4 that hit a power pole on Highland Avenue on March 6, bringing live wires down on the vehicle.
Two juvenile passengers were able to get out and go to a nearby home, while firefighters and police waited for the power to be cut.
An officer says Jaques was slurring her words, appeared to be falling asleep, and later admitted taking gabapentin the night before.
She was arrested, taken for medical clearance, then lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
