Pike County Making Plans with National Opioid Settlement Money

The Pike County Fiscal Court is trying to make plans for what Pike County should do with its share of the national opioid settlement money.

During Tuesday’s meeting of the Fiscal Court, Judge-Executive Ray S. Jones said, “The drug problem is out of control here.”

One of the items discussed was a motion to purchase a vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office that would allow for the transport of its new, incoming K9 deputy.

The new K9, Jones said, is a step forward in the fight.

Jones said a working group would continue to make recommendations on how and when to spend the funds.
